Potluck party

Hmmm.. .There you go I have one invitation for potluck party tomorrow. Occasion? Well does potluck party qualify as a party? Every person in potluck party is an equal contributor. So what’s the point in asking who or what it is for? Oh well but this has one-“post marriage blues”. So alright, it’s an occasion where we can sympathize with the victim. Chalega. Potluck chalega! Infact the victim needs many pots of luck. So bring on as much as you can.

Potluck party is basically a get together party. Technically it’s nothing more than a sort of domineering party. The invitation comes in casually like—“Hey tomorrow we are having potluck party, 6pm, at my house. Have invited few other friends as well!” Now, how does that sound? Good idea! Doesn’t cost him/her anything. Infact it gives them right to decide the time, the venue and the guests. Brilliant!

So how about potluck party at my place now at 6 pm…coz I am really hungry!

Noise pollution

Do you react if the person next to you talks loud and shrill? Perhaps not. Perhaps a lot. I have seen people fight against noise pollution without making any noise. Just kidding! I mean really how do you argue with a person who is hearing songs on his/her cell phone with the volume cranked up to the maximum? I mean if you do at all. If you are a good person, it makes sense to keep your noise level below his cell phone noise level. Nahi? An interesting way is to get interested in that person’s personal affairs…so much that in an attempt to converse with you he tunes it down or even better turns it off. In any case what you want is achieved. Really simple! Well won’t give you the feeling of changing the world, but what do you really care? Being compassionate will solve plenty of problems. Do you know how to twitch and turn the things to everybody’s advantage? That’s called social work too ;)

People make mistakes and if they are publicly ridiculed for it, chances are that they will probably remember that hurt more than what was worth learning. So why hurt? To change the world you just need enough time to connect. Have it?

I have been implementing many such ideas on daily basis since my childhood. And believe me it works every time. Hope to twitch and twist many things around me. They are quite bothersome. But shhh….that’s the secret.

An opportunity for all...

Unable to spend enough time editing my posts, most of my posts are left as rough drafts and consequently there is a huge backlog of posts to be edited. So I here I am promising myself not to overdo this "post" analysis. After all these posts just symbolize a thought at a moment in our life, which certainly changes as one understand things better or experience more things in life. Oh sorry for drifting again into that spiritual mode.

Here is an interesting post from rediff.com that Amit Varma brought to notice through his blog. http://specials.rediff.com/news/2009/jan/03slid1-its-buy-election-time-in-tamil-nadu.htm

It's amazing how the commoners who always get their kicks by blaming corrupt politicians, themselves enjoy the opportunity to lay their hands on whatever they can during the elections. Does this baffle you? Please don't be. If you wonder how many people are like that, let me tell you the exact number. It's atleast 90%! Those who have faith in goodness, let me tell you one thing. I am one of you! I am considered hopelessly optimistic, even after knowing exactly who around me laid their hands on opportunities like that. It's disheartening!

We fight against corruption, but it never works and this is the reason why. Think about it. This is why we need grass root change. A fight against chosen few (politicians) will not solve the problem. They will be replaced by someone who is equally corrupt if not more.
